2ND OF DECEMBER, 2017: ECOWAS YOUTH COUNCIL CALL TO END REINCARNATION OF SLAVE-TRADE AND BROAD KILLINGS OF AFRICANS IN LIBYA AND A REGIONAL THIRTY DAYS OF EXTRAVAGANT ACTIONABLE CAMPAIGN.
The ECOWAS Youth Council would like to call the attention of the UN Migration Agency, European Union, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Amnesty International, African Union (AU),Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission, and other organizationsto the deadly mass slave trading, mal-human treatments, unlawful detentions and under covered killings of illegal migrants in Libya. The ECOWAS Youth Council wishes to officially airwaves its voice in order to condemn to the highest degree the barbaric acts of enslavement, torturing, and killings of Africans; an act that can be classified as anti-pan Africanism, and the diminishing of population growth which is a grave violation of human rights that needs to end with immediate measurers be taken to save the thousands of human lives.
For decades, wide regions of sub-Saharan Africa have been swallowed by squalor and extreme poverty, crushed under the rule of oppressive governments or caught in the crosshairs of deadly groups that thrive on terror and so many anti humans hunts that panic a conducive living environment, so at result- war victims, poverty striking humans, military servitudes seek sample multiples engines for migration to parasite on a floor of greener-pasture.
As the ECOWAS Youth Council does not support illegal or trespassing of any country’s borders, we also want to give a strong warning for malpractices against human lives and nasty treatments of fellow human beings to stop. The Mediterranean is now a vast unmarked grave to thousands of migrant lives lost at sea either by vessel accidents or customary grave killings by anti-human living personnel. The markets for human trading should be discouraged to the fullest as we move towards a more advance and free world. The old days of slavery is reincarnating and creeping into our world to destroy our agreements to live freely with each other. The ongoing act is a recipe to doubt our fruitful outcome of all the beautiful policies crafted in the African partnership for united Africa. It is a shame to mankind to sit and look at fellows humans been sold for just $ 400 USD or little. More unimaginably, young men and women are kept in storerooms as goods and are to wait for a human market day to be sold to their masters as either sex slaves or working horses. There is no amount that can measure the total number of Africans that has been killed since the start of the offensive human rights knights killings. Sadly, more than 3,000 people have died crossing the most treacherous point of the Mediterranean, where Libya’s northern shore connects to the string of islands surrounding the Italian coast.
The Youth Council has noticed that 99% of the fellows treated in slavery are youths whose ambitions are geared to seeking better living environment and affordable education systems for self-improvements and also with the notion to help grow their families back home in Africa.
The ECOWAS Youth Council which is the mother organization for all youth organizations in the West African region calls on all meaningful international and national actors to enrich consensus on migration management, address the complexities of migration and lead to recommendations to extract all of its citizens from such a phase of terrorism in Libya.
African leaders are asked to act with amicable strategies in order to save our African brothers and citizens from the DEN’s of HELL. If the Migration Dialogue for West Africa (MIDWA) is to achieve its mission towards Global Compact Migration, we believe that actions should be characterized by high levels of cross border human mobility and migration should be safer for all human lives across the globe, which must be a starting point for the huge task ahead.
As some of the recommendations of our inter-regional youth’s consultations amount to end the ongoing are to:
· Negotiate with stakeholders and dentition centers in Libya to free our remaining African citizens, who are dying with starvation and unexplainable torment;
· Implement all the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from a migration perspective;
· Involve youths in decisions marking at both the national and grassroots levels;
· Educate youths on their human rights and illegal migration mobility;
